Human Resources Coordinator
Acts as the main reception point for staff coming to the HR department. Provides responsive, welcoming customer service. Responsible for efficient, accurate and timely HR clerical functions. Manages the onboarding process for new staff. Works with the recruiter to extend formal job offer letters and assure all background checks & drug screen processes are accurately and timely completed. Manages the new employee orientation (NEO) program to assure it meets DNV and OSHA requirements. Manages the Tuition Reimbursement program for employees seeking to advance their degrees and careers. Oversees the hospital Volunteer program. Responsible for department supplies, records and purchases - maintains financial/budgetary information and submits check requests for the HR Department. Supports Employee relations activities and recognition programs. Enters and maintains accurate payroll data in the HRIS System (Lawson). Coordinates recordkeeping aspects of the Workers' Compensation Program with the Employee Health Nurse and administers the Transitional Work program. Manages the Assistive Language Program and Proctors the employee testing process. Assists employees and applicants with general Human Resource issues such as benefits and payroll questions. May also support occasional activities for Marketing, Education and Employee Health. Ensures accurate administration of personnel actions, advises employees and managers regarding Human Resources policies, procedures and benefits.
- Previous HR experience in a hospital setting is desirable.
- Certification as PHR or SHRM-CP is helpful.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Previous payroll experience helpful.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages are a plus
- Competent in computer skills: WORD, Excel, Outlook, HRIS database experience.
